Phew. I've finished taking a look at every single one of the 182 blogs in the M category. For the most part I've enjoyed my time but, please people posts that begin: I don't have much to say or, not much has happened lately, make me yawn, force me to look at my watch then furtively click on the next blog link. C'mon the whole point of this is to exercise your creativity.
Ninety five percent of the M blogs are written by women and a good sixty percent of these female writers are mommy's although not all gave their kids enough focus that I felt justified in calling them mommy blogs.
A whopping 32% had no consistent theme. I call these blogs personal anecdotal. We are all complex people so why wouldn't our blogs reflect our lives.
28% have missed a day or more and boy to they know it. No cool prizes for you.
23% can only be called Mommy Blogs.
Crafty blogs made up 11 % . By crafty I'm talking about a consistent focus on anything homemade, knitting, sewing etc.
3 % of blogs were written by students.
2% seemed to be writers.
Another 2 % had a food focus.
1 % were mainly photos.
1 blog seemed to be solely concentrating on anything about Morocco.
I've been dropping in on Mainly Madge to read about her latest exploits. Her post about dropping a glass of water into her bed was hilarious She said, "Apparently, when I am not up peeing, rolling over or tending to the new batch of nightmares (thanks, Halloween!) I am like a black-out drunk."
Mark Larson offers short posts pointing us towards the sort of stuff that doesn't make sensational headlines but nevertheless tugs at the corners of our minds. Reviews of cool gadgets, musings about art, books, writing, photos, politics, science, music, money and video. This coupled with his take on the subject at hand makes for a great browse especially when you need to be lifted out of your daily grind.
Of course it was Mighty Girl who penned the book, NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU HAD FOR LUNCH:_100 IDEAS FOR YOUR BLOG . I haven't read the book but wonder if it would help those who insist on posting about how they have nothing to say.
momo freaks out lives with her husband T-bone in a thumbelina sized apartment in Tokyo Japan. She says she has a memory like a freakin elephant and as I look through her fotolog I can see she loves to travel.
MOMOPECHE, GO! Is a whittler. She likes to keep her fingers busy creating sculptures of every imaginable thing. Her medium is whatever is at hand, soap underarm deodorant, salami, candles, duct tape, a garlic clove, a banana, even a paperback book. Everyone of her blog posts features a photo of the thing she has created that day.
muppinstuff is one busy women. Despite being a mother, and working part time she loves to sew, garden, cook and write. A women after my own heart. In addition to muppinstuff her other two blogs washalot, all about doing the laundry and eater, an anecdotal collection of her recipes are stuffed to the brim with wonderfully, compelling information. I'm looking forward to having time to browse through them.
So that's it. I'm on to the letter N. I should be able to finish checking out these blogs faster than the time it takes me to knock back a glass of red wine, on a cold snowy evening after stacking fiewood all day.

I'm using the randomizer to read NaBloPoMo blogs and I am surprised at how many people have skipped days too. One blog that came up hadn't posted since 2004! What's THAT abut!!?

Thanks for visiting, I'm not really as busy as I sound. I'm also trying to go through all the NaBloPoMo blogs, from the bottom but I've only just finished the w's. Like you I click through blogs that preface their entry by telling us they have nothing to say. Or that are hard to read. Anyway, I'll be back to have a proper look around here..

Wow. Systematically visiting all the NaBloPoMo participants never even occurred to me. I've been woefully dependent on the Randomizer to take care of my community karma. And the Ms are 95% women? That's impressive. I think I'll see if I can get M. Kennedy over at Fussy.org to do some sort of month's end wrap-up survey. I'm curious about the demographics.

First - thanks for taking the time and effort to review. As much as I'd love to visit "all" the participants, that's not going to happen. So I appreciate you (and others) making the rounds, and sharing what you find.
Also the stats are pretty cool; at least my inner geek thinks so. And for reasons I can't explain, when I first saw "solely concentrating on anything about Morocco" I thought it said, "anything but Morocco." Which actually sounded kind of intriguing; hmm...

I love the reviews, keep up the good work!
